Past Work
EXPERIENCE I've produced articles and photos as a freelance journalist for dozens of publications, from mountaineering, travel and general interest magazines to newspapers, in the UK and elsewhere. Examples include The Independent, The Times, The Herald, The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday, the Reader's Digest, Trail Magazine, The Scots Magazine, Trail, Rock & Ice. In the 2000s I was a columnist for my local paper, Am Pàipear, based in Balivanich in the Western Isles.
SUBJECTS COVERED These have included adventure and travel, the environment, music and book reviews, food, restaurant reviews, wine, interviews with politicians and councillors, political reports, health and diseases, scientific research, product and equipment tests and reviews, outdoor guides, anecdotes and reportage.
